IPv6 - what do I have to think about?

I would like to hear something about IPv6 in PHP applications. What do we have to think about if we serve our PHP application via IPv6 (only, or dual-stack)?

For example things like:

- when storing the IP address in database, VARCHAR(15) is not enough anymore

- Store in full 37-char-format or in abreviated format? Data type? Problems with mixed IPv4 and IPv6 addresses?

- Brute-Force defense?
